Thirsty for adventure and fame, a few intrepid adventurers plunge into an underground maze. Just as they get their hands on the treasure, a powerful sorcerer emerges from his torpor and begins to hunt them down. The only chance the adventurers have for survival is to flee toward the exit while thwarting the terrible spells he casts upon them.
Rush Out! is a game of speed, in which one player plays the sorcerer, trying to retrieve his treasure from the other players, the heroes. The first team to empty their deck of cards wins the game.
There are no turns. All players roll their own dice as quickly as possible, as often as they like, without waiting for the other players, to complete the cards of which they need to discard in front of them. This is true for both the sorcerer and the heroes; everyone plays simultaneously!
Communication could be the key to success for the heroes.
Gameplay
In this game players delved into the dungeon stealing treasure! But as they try to escape, a powerful sorcerer appears and begins to hunt them!
The adventurers all have their own set of dice and together they try to get through a deck of cards as quickly as they can. This is done by placing matching dice on matching symbols. When a card is filled completely, dice can be taken back and a new card drawn.
The sorcerer works according to the same set of rules, but only tries to fill their own cards in front of them.
Whoever empties their deck first, wins the game!
These rules described above are the basic set of rules. There are a lot of different expansion materials included to expand the gameplay. This can be done by selecting one of 6 scenarios at the beginning of the game.
Thoughts
Honestly, when I first saw this game passing by, I thought it would be a bit more strategic as it turned out to be. So I had some shifting to do in my head 😅.
Rush Out is a fun game, with a lot of dice rolling involved. For me it can be quite stressful, mainly because I can not always handle tension well 🤯
However, I've got lovely cousins who would LOVE such a chaotic dice rolling game. They love everything busy and they would definitely love this artwork as well. I think this is more of a family/children's game.
Because of the expansion possibilities, I'd say there is a lot of replay value.
I think this is a fun game to play as a family together with kids. The parent could play the sorcerer, and the kids can roll, roll, roll trying to beat them.
