At the heart of Awkward Guests lies a beautifully simple yet engaging mechanic. Players hold a hand of six cards, each possessing a specific value (1, 2 or 3 points, according to the amount of information that it provides) and several references (i.e., the subjects of the card information). During your turn, you'll ask for information about two different references, prompting your fellow players to offer you cards containing the requested information. Trade and negotiate with your opponents, using your keen intuition to gather the most valuable clues.

But the mystery deepens with every turn. If the puzzle remains unsolved, players discard parts of their hands and receive three new cards, keeping the game suspenseful and unpredictable. The race is on to be the first to crack the case!
